About this file

This statement of requirements outlines specifications for compute nodes to augment a Linux cluster computer. The contractor shall provide sixteen computer cluster nodes contained in 2U chassis with four nodes per rack-mountable chassis. Each node must have 32 CPU cores running at 2.1 GHz or greater, 128GB or more of DDR4 or DDR5 ECC memory, and a 1.9TB SSD. Additionally, the contractor shall supply one 10GbE switch, Ethernet cabling, power distribution units, and rack mounting hardware. As an option, the contractor can provide up to ninety-six additional nodes meeting the same specifications. Delivery of all items is due within 60 days of award to the National Institute of Standards and Technology campus in Gaithersburg, Maryland. A three-year warranty shall be provided along with advance replacement of defective parts. The statement establishes acceptance criteria and delivery timelines for the compute nodes and optional additional nodes to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENTS

Compute Nodes to Augment Linux Cluster Computer

I. SPECIFICATIONS

The Contractor shall provide sixteen (16) computer cluster nodes that meet or exceed the following requirements:

System

· The computer cluster nodes shall be contained in 2U chassis containing 4 nodes per rack-mountable chassis.

· The computer cluster nodes shall have 32 CPU cores (latest generation) with a 64-bit x86 architecture running at 2.1 GHz or greater. These may be configured as a single 32-core CPU or 2 16-core CPUs.

· The computer cluster nodes shall have 128 GB or DDR4 ECC memory at 2400 MHz or greater or DDR5 ECC memory at 4800MHz or greater.

· The computer cluster nodes shall have one (1) 1.9 TB (or greater) SSD.

· The computer cluster nodes shall have 10 GbE network adapters.

· The computer cluster nodes shall have no OS installed.

· The computer cluster nodes shall be set to boot via PXE on the first ethernet connection.

· The Contractor shall supply a spreadsheet listing the MAC addresses of each machine and provide a clear mapping to the nodes (e.g., via labels on node chassis).

· The Contractor shall provide one (1) 10 GbE switch.

· The Contractor shall provide sufficient ethernet cabling to connect each node to each switch.

· The system shall include sufficient power distribution units (PDUs) to power all nodes using 30 A 208 V power with L6-30P plugs and corresponding power cords. PDUs shall be of the vertical, 0U type and include a display of power load.

· The Contractor shall supply all associated rails and rack mounting hardware sufficient for installation in an existing computer rack (Black Box Elite cabinet, part #EC42U2442SNNNSNN).

II. Separately Priced Option Line Item 0002: Additional Compute Nodes

The Contractor shall provide up to an additional ninety-six (96) computer cluster nodes that meet the requirements within the specifications.

III. DELIVERY

Delivery shall be FOB Destination to NIST’s Gaithersburg campus, 100 Bureau Drive, Gaithersburg MD, between 7:30 A.M to 3:30 P.M Eastern Standard time and shall occur within 60 days from award.
