Statement of Need for

60 MDTS/SGQC

Biofire Torch Module

(Model # HTFA-ASY-0003)

Description: David Grant Medical Center (DGMC) is requesting the BioFire Torch to rapidly test patients under investigation (PUIs), which would greatly improve patient care and emergency preparedness.

The BioFire Torch is a molecular diagnostic instrument that is capable of identifying infectious agents in clinical samples. The system utilizes polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to rapidly test clinical samples for the presence of specific DNA sequences that are associated with known pathogens, such as viruses or bacteria. With the rapid spread of COVID-19, BioFire has released a new respiratory test kit that can identify specific DNA sequences of the novel coronavirus.

POC:

Unless determined otherwise, the vendor will provide the following:

1. Machine

1.1. Must be compatible with the existing Biofire Analyzer System (Model # HTFA-ASY-

0104) currently owned by DGMC

1.2. Machine must be capable of providing COVID-19 test results within 60 minutes to keep up with DGMC current workload

1.3. Device must be capable of stacking up to 12 individual testing components and run each component simultaneously

1.4. Electrical Requirements: 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz

1.5. Warranty must be included (12 months)
