Solicitation ST1330-16-RQ-00445 Wireless Network Infrastructure Questions from vendors

1) Please confirm bid due date and time.

RESPONSE: Monday, August 29, 2016, 3:00pm ET.

2) Using the Section B, page 3 sheet for the bid submittal; is the tax to be included within the price matrix at any point?

RESPONSE: The federal government does not pay taxes. Taxes billed to the federal government are unallowable.

3) Will the Section B, page 3 sheet be the only format needed for the bid submittal?

RESPONSE: The pricing table in Section B, page 3, is only a template. Vendors may choose to use it or submit their own, as long as all the information requested within the template is provided. Only the requested information is necessary.

4) Will new innerduct be required for new fiber emplacement? or will it be run "in the open"?

RESPONSE: Yes, innerduct for fiber

5) Building 8- Will the WAP used for exterior coverage be mounted inside the bldg; then paddles be mounted on the exterior wall?

RESPONSE: WAP will be mounted on the outside of the building. Cabling install can terminate inside and next to opening in the NE corner of the building where the existing cabling exists the building.

6) Building 8- Given the possible pathway needed to reach some locations, what measures should be taken if length requirements become an issue?

RESPONSE: Stay within the Cat6A distance imitations of 100 meters for 10G. The path of least residence should be out to the boat bay and then back into the individual rooms.

7) Building 8 wiring: although there are some obvious area where conduit should be installed for professionalism (i.e. remodeled office area), will conduit be required in the highbays or can the new data wires for the WAPs be secured to the "red iron" roof trusses adjacent to the existing pathways?

RESPONSE: The Cat6A runs for the Boat Bay area may be secured to the roof trusses.

8) Building 1 fiber: I did not notice much innerduct applied in previous projects. Is the new SM fiber runs to the IDFs rooms required to be in innerduct?

RESPONSE: Yes, use innerduct with all fiber runs.

9) Building 1 IDF 2010: This room is very tight space wise and the existing rack seems very full for a new patch panel and fiber panel. Would wall mounted CAT6A patch panels be allowed on the side wall in this room, 110 style?

RESPONSE: No wall mounted patch panels for this installation. Equipment within the existing rack will be adjusted to make room.
