About this file

This document is a justification for a single source award for medical equipment maintenance and support services. The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks to award a sole source contract to Bayer HealthCare to maintain Medrad injection systems at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. Key equipment includes Medrad Mark 7 Arterion, Portegra2 system, and Stellant FLEX CT injectors. The justification cites Bayer's proprietary calibration software as the unique characteristic requiring the single source award, as this software is only available from Bayer and is required to properly maintain the injectors. Market research found no other capable vendors. The contracting officer certified the justification is accurate and complete. The related federal contract opportunity is for injector service with Bayer HealthCare and was issued by the VA Veterans Health Administration VISN 1.
