SR295 @ Midway Street Drainage

ODOT has a drainage pipe that needs replaced and upsized from 12” to 15” diameter on SR 295. Location: see picture is at 8.364 mm on SR 295 and Midway in Whitehouse, OH.

We are bidding part of the work and doing some of the work in house with ODOT crews.

ODOT will do all MOT throughout the project and the pavement restoration after contract work ends. Mot will include closing the Road on SR 295 at the repair area for the week of repairs. MOT needs to be communicated with Tom Powell the Lucas County Transportation Administrator 14 days in advance of road closure at 419-373-7046.

Bid work will reference 2023 ODOT C&MS. Work will include saw cutting and removing pavement, excavating, hauling off and disposing of all materials, removing approximately 150’ of 12” drainage pipe with care to not damage the catch basins, hauling off and disposing of it, while securing all utilities. Pipe has a flow line of approximately 3-7’ deep. The pipe shall be installed as per ODOT C&MS Item 611.

Placement of new 15” pipe 707.42 Polyvinyl Chloride Corrugated Smooth Interior Pipe. Provide PVC corrugated smooth interior pipe, joints and fittings according to ASTM F 949, or 706.02 Reinforced Concrete Circular Pipe per item 611. The new conduit will be placed between two existing catch basins which are to remain with positive drainage and sealed with Masonry Collar per ODOT Standard Drawing DM-1.1 dated 7-17-2020.

Once pipe is secured so it won’t move, or float then backfill per ODOT C&MS Item 613 Low strength mortar backfill to an elevation of 3’ beneath subgrade, then bring item 304 aggregate up in 6” compacted lifts to 1’ beneath pavement surface.

All work must be done in 5 consecutive days or less, Monday-Friday. All work must be completed by August 15th, 2025.

All the work will be paid for by price per foot of pipe placed this will cover all work and materials.

The Odot Lucas County garage will place the pavement, grading, seeding and do the remaining work.
