About this file

This document contains a Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) for a wiring harness as well as details of an upcoming federal contract opportunity for the same item.

The SPI specifies how the wiring harness, identified by part number and national stock number, is to be preserved, packed, and marked according to military standards. It provides dimensions for packing the coil, instructions for taping, bagging, and container closure. The SPI identifies the materials to be used at each level of preservation and lists cleaning, drying, and packing requirements.

The federal contract opportunity will be a firm-fixed-price solicitation issued by the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime for 374 each of the wiring harness, with an option for an additional 374. The solicitation is expected to be released on or about October 1, 2019. Offerors must be certified through the United States/Canada Joint Certification Program to access the technical data package through FedBizOpps. The solicitation will allow for a reverse auction as a pricing technique. The opportunity is set aside fully for small businesses including UNICOR/FPI.
