A. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:

1. INSPECT PRESERVATION AND UNIT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1D.

2. INSPECT THE PACKING IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-1186 AND THE APPLICABLE CONTAINER

SPECIFICATION.

B. CLEAN AND DRY ITEM BY ANY SUITABLE PROCESS BEFORE APPLICATION OF PACKAGING MATERIALS.

C. APPLY PRESERVATIVE TO ALL BARE METAL SURFACES.

D. SEAL ALL OPENINGS TO THE INTERIOR OF THE INTERMEDIATE PUMP WITH CAPS/PLUGS OF THE

APPROPRIATE SIZE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITEM DRAWING. ALSO, INSTALL A CAP/PLUG OVER THE

SPLINED SHAFT.

E. APPLY WRAP BETWEEN THE MOUNTING BOARD (ITEMS A AND B, PAGES 3 AND 4) AND THE PUMP. USE

THE MOUNTING BOARD AS A TEMPLATE TO MAKE HOLES IN THE WRAP TO ALLOW THE BOLTS TO PASS

THROUGH. AFTER THE PUMP IS SECURED TO THE MOUNTING BOARD, FOLD THE WRAP TO

COMPLETELY ENCLOSE THE PUMP. SECURE WITH TAPE.

F. SEE PAGES 2 THROUGH 4. USE ASTM F1667 NAILS TO SECURE BLOCKS A AND B TOGETHER.

G. SEE PAGES 3 AND 4.

H. CONTAINER IS CONSTRUCTED OF ALL 1-INCH THICK NOMINAL LUMBER AND IS MODIFIED TO INCLUDE

BEVELED SKIDS. SIZE AND APPLICATION OF SKIDS ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM D6880 AND ARE

PLACED AS SHOWN ON PAGE 2.

J. THE UNIT CONTAINER IS THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.
