About this file

This document appears to be a set of salient characteristics for a Pierside Recovery Unit, which is being procured in a federal contract opportunity.

The key details are that the Pierside Recovery Unit (Qty: 2) must meet the following requirements: a vacuum module with a 350 cfm eductor venturi, muffler, and high efficiency at 100 psi; a dust collection module with high efficiency cartridge filters, pneumatic cartridge cleaning, and compact forklift-friendly design; the vacuum and dust collection modules are mounted on a single skid-mounted unit; the system has a 2 ton/hour abrasive recovery capability and can be used for lead-based paint removal projects without environmental contamination. The related federal contract opportunity is for VACUUM UNITS, to be acquired under FAR Parts 12 and 13 using simplified acquisition procedures. The NAICS code is 333998 with a 700 employee size standard. Quotes must be submitted via email or fax and include required information such as delivery lead time and compliance with NIST SP 800-171 if applicable.

i. Produce vacuum or suction

ii. A 350 cfm Eductor Venturi, which shall create a very high pressure, and a vacuum of up to 24” Hg

iii. The educator shall be extremely efficient, and produces approximately 2-3 cfm of vacuum air for every 1 cfm of compressed air at 100 psi.

iv. A muffler shall be mounted on the educator to reduce noise

v. The eductors shall operate at optimum efficiency, when provided a minimum pressure shall be 100 psi

b. Dust Collection Module to include the following minimal or equal features:

i. High efficiency cartridges shall be provided to remove all airborne contaminants, even down to lead dust for hazardous waste jobs

ii. One cartridge shall contain 226 square feet of filter area

iii. Pneumatic controlled cartridge cleaning with reverse-pulse air jet

iv. Maxi-pulse cartridge cleaning nozzle to clean the cartridges more efficiently and thoroughly, thus extending cartridge life by 2-3 times

v. String steel construction

vi. East dust disposal

vii. Durable coated finish

viii. Quick cartridge and dust bucket access with easy to one foam-sealed doors

ix. Pneumatic powered/controlled reverse pulse timer cleaning system

x. Compact design with forklift pockets (for movement by a small and medium forklift)

c. The vacuum module shall be mounted to the dust collection, for a compact, practical operation, installed on one skid-mounted unit.

d. The system shall provide suction for 2 tons/hour of abrasive, that shall have the capability to be dropped into a 55-gallon drum.
