Text version
What material are they wanting the equipment to collect?
The downdraft bench is used to capture dust particulate off small parts that are being hand prepped by Paint shop. It is essentially a small horizontal dust collector that pulls the dust down and away from the part being sanded. The dust particulate is captured by the filters built into the downdraft bench. The parts are not subsequently painted, only prepped on the downdraft bench.
Is the material considered combustible?
The dust from the parts is not expected to be combustible based on the face velocity of the air movement across the work surface. Once the filters reach a certain level of restriction by virtue of dust they are replaced with new filters. The relative efficiency of the filters is monitored by a Magnehelic Gauge. The downdraft bench utilizes both Intake and Exhaust filtration.
What is the application? Grinding, welding, sanding, cutting?
Hand and machine tool sanding of small parts.
Does it need to include an operator training?
No, Shop is familiar with the operation sufficiently to instruct employees on the safe operation.
What is the “Transition to mate 2 High x 1 Wide Ultra-Lok Assembly”?
It’s a tapered metal transition part needed to adapt the downdraft bench itself to the Ultra Lok filter assembly. It is installed on the right side. It is critical part of the overall system.
