A. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:

1. INSPECT THE PRESERVATION AND UNIT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1.

2. INSPECT THE CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH A-A-52462, INCLUDING THE FIRST ARTICLE

INSPECTION REQUIREMENT.

B. PLACE 144 UNITS OF DESICCANT INTO CONTAINER DESICCANT BASKET.

C. SPECIAL MARKINGS SHALL BE APPLIED AS FOLLOWS:

1) THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION SHALL BE MARKED ON THE CONTAINER DATA PLATE FOR

ALL CONTAINERS:

a) CONTAINER SPECIFICATION

b) CONTAINER CONTRACT NUMBER

c) CONTAINER NATIONAL STOCK NUMBER

2) ALL THE DATA PLATE INFORMATION WILL BE MARKED ON THE CONTAINER DATA PLATE FOR

THOSE CONTAINERS GOING TO A ENGINE CONTRACTOR WITH THE FOLLOWING

INFORMATION FOR THE DATA PLATE:

a) ENGINE MODEL NUMBER

b) ENGINE WITH CONTAINER NUMBER

c) ENGINE WITH CONTAINER NATIONAL STOCK NUMBER

3) “CARC” SHALL BE MARKED WITH PAINT CONFORMING TO MIL-DTL-53039 OR MIL-DTL-64159, COLOR BLACK, IN 1-INCH LETTERS IN AN AREA AS NEAR AS PRACTICAL TO THE NAMEPLATE.

4) “REUSABLE CONTAINER: DO NOT DESTROY” SHALL BE MARKED WITH PAINT CONFORMING

TO MIL-DTL-53039 OR MIL-DTL-64159, COLOR BLACK, IN ½-INCH LETTERS IN AN AREA ON THE

LOWER CONTAINER SECTION ON THE SAME END AS THE NAMEPLATE.

D. THE UNIT CONTAINER SHALL BE THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.
