B. DISASSEMBLE BEACON LIGHT IS ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
1. REMOVE BEACON LIGHT ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS ON PAGE 2, REINSTALL
HARDWARE TO THE MATING PART ON VEHICLE.
2. WRAP: MIL-PRF-121, TY II, SIZE: 41 X 36, WRAP BEACON LIGHT ENTIRELY WITH PAPER, SECURE
WITH TAPE ASTM-D6123.
3. IDENTIFICATION: IDENTIFY ITEM WITH “DISASSEMBLED BEACON LIGHT”.
4. INSPECTION: INSPECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CRITERIA FOR METHOD 10.
C. DISASSEMBLE WINDSHIELD WIPERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
1. REMOVE WINDSHEILD WIPERS ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS ON PAGE 3, REINSTALL
HARDWARE TO THE MATING PART ON VEHICLE.
2. BAG: MIL-DTL-117, TY III, CL B, ST 2, SIZE: 6 X 22, CLOSE BAG BY HEAT SEAL OR TAPE.
3. IDENTIFICATION: IDENTIFY ITEM WITH “DISASSEMBLED WINDSHEILD WIPERS”.
4. INSPECTION: INSPECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CRITERIA FOR METHOD 10.
D. CONSOLIDATE ITEMS FROM NOTES B – C IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STEPS BELOW:
1. PLACE PACKAGED BEACON LIGHT AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS INTO CONTAINER.
2. CONTAINER: ASTM-D5118, TY CF, ST RSC, CL WR, GR W5C, VR SW, SIZE: 22 X 10 X 9-1/2, CLOSE
CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM-D1974, METHOD 2B3.
3. IDENTIFICATION: IDENTIFY CONTAINER AS “DISASSEMBLED WINDSHEILD WIPERS AND
BEACON LIGHT”.
4. INSPECTION: INSPECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CRITERIA FOR METHOD 10.
5. STOW:: PLACE CONTAINER ON PASSENGER SEAT AND SECURE USING SEAT BELT.

X 1/4” THICKNESS, SECURE WITH TAPE ASTM-D6123.
3. DOUBLE WRAP EACH SMALL SIDE MIRROR IN CUSHIONING: A-A-59135, CL 1, GR A, SIZE: 12 X 24
X 1/4” THICKNESS, SECURE WITH TAPE ASTM-D6123.

F. APPLY PRESERVATIVE TO ALL EXTERNAL UNPAINTED, UNPLATED METALLIC SURFACES.
G. LUMBER SIZES ARE NOMINAL UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, SECURE APPLICABLE BLOCKING
TOGETHER AND TO THE INTERIOR OF THE CONTAINER USING NAILS/STAPLES CONFORMING TO
ASTM-F1667, SEE PAGES 2 - 7 FOR SIZES AND ORIENTATION.
H. BARRIER MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED ATOP THE LUMBER BUILD-UPS (ITEM E) TO PREVENT CAB
FROM COMING IN CONTACT WITH CONTAINER LUMBER.
I. CONTAINER IS TO BE MODIFIED TO INCLUDE TWO (2) 4 X 6 SKIDS WITH RUB STRIPS. ALL SKIDS MUST BE PLACED IN THE LOCATIONS SPECIFIED IN THIS INSTRUCTION. SEE PAGE 6 FOR LOCATIONS.
CLOSE CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM-D7478.
J. UNIT CONTAINER IS THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.
K. IN ADDITION TO MIL-STD-129 MARKINGS, THE UNIT CONTAINER SHALL BE MARKED ON THE TOP
AND SIDES WITH MINIMUM 1/2 INCH HIGH BLACK LETTERS "REUSABLE CONTAINER, DO NOT
DESTROY". IN ADDITION, THE TOP AND ENDS SHALL BE MARKED "REMOVE LAG SCREWS TO OPEN
CONTAINER" USING 1/2 INCH HIGH BLACK LETTERS.
PACKING LIST SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-129 IN ADDITION THE DISASSEMBLED
