About this file

This document contains a special packaging instruction and a related federal contract opportunity for transmission assemblies. The special packaging instruction provides detailed requirements for preserving, packing, and marking a transmission with container. It specifies the part number, nomenclature, stock number, preservation method, cleaning and drying processes, packing level, marking requirements, and other particulars for unitizing the transmission assembly. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation to purchase nine dressed transmissions with containers meeting the requirements in the technical data package. Interested offerors must submit bids by 30 November 2020 to the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime for consideration. The solicitation also indicates that a reverse auction may be used after bids close as a pricing technique.
