Specifications
The minimum specifications for a 3D printer for dairy components include:
• Small overall footprint for placement within available laboratory space of 20” x 20”.
• Modular printheads to accommodate variable “ink” materials.
• Ability to accommodate printing nozzles at least containing the range between 0.4 and 1.0 mm inner diameter.
• A minimum of three printheads, each with a capacity of 9 mL at least.
• Temperature control for each printhead, with controlled heating to at least 60°C.
• An electromagnetic droplet printhead for printing liquid materials.
• A thermoplastic printhead with the capability of heating to at least 200°C.
• Printheads must be able to house pre-sterilized or food-grade materials.
• Ability to print materials at a pressure of up to 90 psi or greater.
• Printing resolution of 100 microns or less.
• Photocuring option at least with wavelengths of 365 and 405 nm.
• A temperature-controlled print bed for cooling/heating to at least cover the range between 4°C and 60°C.
• Software that allows for control of the bioprinter, for design of new printing models for multi-material constructs, and to generate reports of parameters from prints.
Additional Information:
• Vendor is to provide installation and training for the requested equipment.
• License for software to communicate and create printing maps.
• Customer care package for 1 year. Bio-ink starter
• package. Pneumatic printhead with 10-mL capacity.
• Photocuring toolhead. Syringe pump printhead.
• Minimum of one-year warranty
