About this file
This document is a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the procurement of an Anoxomat III system that meets the specified requirements. The Poultry Production and Product Safety Research Unit of the USDA's Agricultural Research Service is seeking a mobile, bench-top, customizable atmospheric chamber for microbiology applications. The system must be compact, operate within a specific temperature range, and have the capability to create true anaerobic and microaerophilic environments. It must include a custom recipe generating program, digital touchscreen display, gas stability control, and compatibility with various sample containers. The government anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price contract to the offeror who meets the technical specifications at the lowest price. Quotes must be submitted by August 16, 2024, and the NAICS code for this opportunity is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees.

Specifications The Poultry Production and Product Safety Research Unit (Fayetteville, AR) requires a mobile, bench-top customizable-atmospheric chamber for microbiology. The atmosphere generating system must have the following specifications: Be compact to fit on a bench-top to meet the dimensions of 12 x 9 x 13 inches; be able to operate at temperature from 10oC to 32oC, and weigh no more than 33 pounds, and be 120V (110-120VAC, 60Hz, 516W). The custom atmospheric environments must be capable of creating true anaerobic environments with a strict zero oxygen level, as well as microaerophilic environments with 6% oxygen. The system must have a custom recipe generating program. The custom environments must be created in five minutes; have a digital touchscreen display for quantitative results and the ability to monitor quality checks and tests; gas constituents must remain stable to within 0.5% of the delivered concentration; the atmospheric generating system must have capability to simultaneously maintain up to three gas connections to create the custom atmospheric environment; the atmospheric generating system must have a digital transfer storage onboard with optional data integration or printing. The atmospheric generating system must be suited and compatible with a variety of jars including incubation of test tubes, flasks, microtiter plates, 10cm well, or 15cm plates; the jars must have a clamp-on lid system to create a secure seal; the jar lids should be recessed, snap-shut to connect to the gas supply. Specifically, chambers should be jars capable of holding simultaneously three stacks of twelve petri dishes (9-10cm); or, hold one stack of (13x9cm) microtiter plates or one stack of (14.5cm) 10 petri dishes.
