Requested Product: High Flow Skid Steer Loader Caterpillar 242D3 This Solicitation is a Brand Name Requirement only.

Description of Needs

Pecos National Historical Park seeks to replace a 1997 Bobcat 863, Property Number PNP7000068205, Product Identification Number, 514412473, skid steer loader with 1391 hours.

The machine is 27 years old and no longer reliable or safe for park operations. The machine has spent over two months in the shop to repair the parking brake in a critical time of the year and rentals in the Pecos, New Mexico area cost over $3,200 per month. The equipment is used daily by the Preservation Crew throughout the summer, weekly for spreading gravel and moving materials throughout the year and utilized for snow removal in the winter months.

This is a brand name requirement for a Caterpillar 242D3 skid steer loader. Pecos National Historical Park currently owns one 2018 Caterpillar 242D skid steer loader with multiple attachments and seeking to acquire an additional skid steer loader that will accommodate currently owned attachments and have similar controls that are familiar to the park staff.

Parts, service and repairs for the selected skid steer loader must be available within 100 miles of Pecos, New Mexico from a brand-authorized dealer. Vendors quoting equal units must provide us with information regarding the brand-authorized shop for the equal unit. The skid steer loader selected will have following features at a minimum:

Engine & Powertrain Specifications:

Gross horsepower per SAE J1349 of 74.3 hp @ 2400 rpms.

U.S. EPA Tier 4 Emissions Standards.

Electric fuel priming pump, fuel and water separator with glow plugs starting aid.

Liquid cooled, direct injection diesel engine.

Air cleaner, dual element, radial seal with canister type hydraulic and oil filters.

Hydraulic oil cooler radiator.

Hydrostatic transmission with four-wheel chain drive.

Electro/hydraulic implement control with ISO or H pattern controls.

Two speed option for travel with minimum speed of 11.5 mph.

High flow hydraulics with maximum loader hydraulic flow of 30 gallons per minute and dual direction electronic self-level.

Dimensions & Chassis Specifications:

Vertical lift linkage with 74” bolt on cutting edge (BOCE) bucket.

One-piece welded chassis with six (6) machine tie down points and belly pan cleanout.

Welded rear bumper.

Rated operating capacity of 2200 lbs. minimum.

Wheelbase – 43.5 inch minimum.

8.7-inch ground clearance minimum.

83.1-inch height at top of cab maximum.

Overall Vehicle Size - 66-inch vehicle width over tires and 137.3-inch length with bucket.

Fuel Capacity – 24.8 gallons.

12 x 16.5 tires.

12-volt electrical system with 80 ampere alternator and heavy-duty battery with 850

CCA.

Advanced full color, rear view camera with 5” LCD screen, advanced multi-operator security system, on screen adjustments for implement response, Hystat response and creep control.

Ignition key start/stop/aux switch.

Guage backlighting and dome light.

Two rear taillights with back up alarm and LED lights.

Operator warning system indicators for air filter restrictions, alternator output, armrest raised/operator out of seat, engine coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, glow plug activation, hydraulic filter restriction, hydraulic oil temperature, park brake engages, and engine emissions system, fuel level gauge and hour meter.

High Visibility seat belt.

Powered quick coupler.

Storage compartment with netting.

Ergonomic contoured armrest.

Adjustable joystick controls.

Control interlock system – when operator leaves seat or armrest are raised the hydraulic system and hydrostatic transmission disables and the parking brake engages.

Anti-theft security system with 6 button keypad.

Enclosed Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS ISO 3471:2008) with heater, foot throttle, headliner, heater and defroster, side windows, cup holder, radio ready, high back, heated, air ride seat and glass door.

Falling Object Protective Structure (FOPS ISO 3449:2005 Level 1) top and rear windows.

Sealed and pressurized cab to provided cleaner operating environment.

Noise reducing cab.

Air Conditioning.

Interior rear-view mirror.

Submittals:

The vendor shall provide Manufacturer Specifications for product with submission of Solicitation quote.
