Specifications Multi Fluorescent Channel Digital PCR Instrument and Consumables

I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Biosystems and Biomaterial Division is involved in DNA measurements to improve the quality and reproductivity of genomic measurements. There are programs in the measurement of DNA molecules for important projects such as cancer biomarkers, genome editing, and human genomics. The division requires a digital PCR, with the latest multiplex capabilities to ensure the most accurate and efficient measurements of DNA molecules to support these projects.

II. SPECIFICATIONS

The Contractor shall provide one (1) multi fluorescent channel digital PCR and consumables that meet the following minimum technical requirements:

System Requirements:

Hardware

· Must be a benchtop instrument;

· Must have at least 5 fluorescent channels for simultaneous measurements of 5 targets;

· Data calculated for quantitation with results reported in copies per ul;

· Nanoplate based partitioning (not droplets formation);

· Must be compatible with either 96-well plates with at least 8,000 partitions or 24-well plates with at least 20,000 partitions;

· Single instrument, including thermocycler with all integrated components;

· Documentation with the instrument must include operations and maintenance manual

· The system integrates partitioning, thermocycling and imaging into a single fully automated instrument that takes users from the sample to result in under 2 hours.

Software

· The Contractor shall provide Application suite software on disks or USB stick or downloaded from the website;

· The Suite software will come with at least one license, that allows installing the software on all computers within the network;

· The Contractor shall access the application software in a network using their Web browser on a server-client basis without the need to install the suite software on the client computer.

· Data analysis and eports must be exported for external analysis.

· Multiple template functionalities to make repeating plate layouts or plate run parameters.

Thermal Cyler specifications

· Process temperature: 40°C to 99°C

· Ramp rate: Approx. 3.0°C/s

· Accuracy: ±1°C

· Homogeneity (over plate surface): ±1°C

Optical specifications

· At least 5 fluorescent channels with the following Excitation (nm), Emission (nm), and example fluorophores:

· Green 463 - 503 518 - 548 FAM, EvaGreen®

· Yellow 514 – 535 550 - 564 HEX, VIC, JOE

· Screen resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels

· Interface USB port, 1Gbps cable Ethernet

III. INSTALLATION

The Contractor shall install the instrument in Building 227, Room B237, at NIST Gaithersburg, MD. Installation shall include, at a minimum, uncrating/unpacking of all equipment, set-up and hook-up of all equipment, start-up, demonstration of specifications, and removal of all trash. The instrument will operate to manufacturer’s specifications upon installation. Installation will take place during normal business hours, between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday except Federal Holidays, and will be coordinated with the NIST Technical Point of Contact (TPOC). Installation is to occur within xx days of award.

IV. TRAINING

The Contractor shall provide training at NIST for up to two (2) NIST personnel covering normal operation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. Training will be provided during normal business hours, between 8:30am and 5:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except Federal Holidays, and will be coordinated with the NIST Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) to ensure maximum availability of NIST personnel. Training is to occur within 30 days of installation. Training may be completed on-site at NIST immediately after installation and demonstration of specifications.

V. WARRANTY

The Contractor shall provide, at a minimum, a one-year warranty for the instrument. The warranty shall cover routine maintenance, troubleshooting, operational software, all parts, labor, and travel. The warranty shall commence upon the TPOCs acceptance of the instrument

VI. DELIVERY

Delivery shall be FOB Destination and will occur within 60 days of award. However, due to current access restrictions delivery shall not take place until the contractor coordinates with the designated Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and Contracting Officer (CO). Prior to shipment, the Contractor must ensure NISTs campus is open and accepting deliveries. If the restrictions of access to the campus impacts delivery schedules, a modification may be executed by the CO to establish an extended delivery timeframe.

VII. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE

All work shall be completed at the Contractor’s facility, with the exception installation and training which, will s be accomplished at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Normal duty hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of Federal holidays.
