• Must have distributed control technology which helps eliminate the need for a controller located at some distance from the machine, greatly simplifying set-up, use, service and long-term cost.
• System must be able to execute fully automatic processes including automatic bead placement and weld sequencing without the need of a highly trained operator
• Must not require calibration which allows for in-field replacement of a motor via simple mechanical hand tools without affecting the motions process with any calibration related issues
• The motor system should not require slip clutches; shear pins or any other type of mechanical torque limitation devices
• All axes can be run in a stall (bound) position indefinably without detrimental effect to the motors or the mechanical systems
• Any component from any assembly can be exchanged for the same component from another machine without affecting operation or performance
• The weld system is designed to operate with most commercially available weld power supplies; therefore, the power supply investment can be used for other manual operations
• All weld levels and parameters must be programmable from the remote pendant and adjustable during weld operations
• Must have Quick removal mast (torch) assembly
• Must have dual speed jog on travel and wire feed axes
• Must have on-board wire feed unit with 2 and/or 10-pound wire spool capacity
• Weld head component needs to weigh less than 40 pound
• Must have maximum depth up to 60”
• Must have minimum bore of 1-7/8”
