DDJC TRAINING ROOM 51

NEW AUDIO VIDEO EQUIPMENT

STATEMENT OF WORK

1.0

1.1 SCOPE

This specification covers the necessary services, labor, and equipment required to establish a new DDJC training room audio/visual system in Building 100, Room 51. The contractor shall provide past performance records that verify successful project completion of same or similar work. The contractor shall be responsible for the installation, integration and testing of all equipment to ensure that the systems function as intended. The contractor shall provide training to government personnel on the proper use of all newly installed equipment.

1.2 SITE

The new Audio/Video equipment will be installed in Building 100, Room 51 located at the DDJC Tracy installation. The address for this location is 25600 S. Chrisman Rd, Tracy, CA 95304-9150

1.3 FUNCTION

Training Room 51 has a center divider which allows one large room to be split into two separate classrooms. Training room 51 will consist of two classrooms with a podium-mounted AV system, complete with speakers, switching, amplification, multiple audio/video inputs, a podium mounted control keypad, and a video projector. A layout for Training Room 51 is shown in Appendix A.

There will be two podiums installed that will control each of the two classrooms. When the divider is opened to create one large room, Podium1 will be connected to Podium2 using CAT6 communication cable to allow one presentation to be shown on both Projector1 and Projector2. The system configuration is shown in Appendix B.

The majority of the equipment shall be mounted in the podium itself. Control of the system will be achieved by a podium-mounted control keypad. The keypad will provide control of system power, basic source selection and volume control. The keypad will accommodate IP integration for remote monitoring and control. It will also automate the projector and motorized screen. The controls required for each podium is shown in Appendix C.

The existing Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) that provides the electronic sources for the system will be as follows:

· Lap top PC (VGA & Audio) – via cable-cubby on top of podium.

· Podium PC (DVI & Audio) – computer inside of podium.

· Video Tele-Conferencing (DVI & Audio) – video conferencing system inside of podium.

1.3.1 Equipment Lists

The following sample equipment list (see Table 1) is provided as an aid to the contractor. It is not intended to be a comprehensive list. The contractor shall be responsible for a complete and functional system. Building 100, Room 51 was recently constructed to become the primary training room for the DDJC organization.

1.3.2 Description of Components

The following is a brief description of each requirement based on (name brand or equal) salient characteristics for the listed items.

Chief KITES003 - Ceiling Mount Kit for Hanging Tile: The ceiling mount kit supports the LCD projector from acoustical tiles. The projector size is 3.1”x 13.2”x 9.4” and a weight of 6.8 pounds.

JBL Control 26-CT – 6.5” Ceiling Speaker (White): Multiple speakers in parallel are allowed without having to use a constant voltage distributed system. This version includes a multi-tap transformer for 70V/100V systems. The unit includes ceiling mounting hardware and provides 150 watts continuous program power.

Extron MPS409 - Media Presentation Scaling & Switcher: The unit provides five (5) switchers in one enclosure: 1) 3x1 HDMI switcher, 2) 2x1 DVI switcher, 3) 2x1 VGA/HDTV component video switcher, 4) 2x1 composite video switcher, and 5) 9x1 analog stereo audio switcher. The combine switcher mode routes all DVI and HDMI sources to the HDMI output. Continuous Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) communications between the DVI and VGA sources and the display device ensures the reliable display of video.

Extron 60-600-02 - MLC 266 IP Control Keypad: The keypad controls A/V equipment with an IP link for Ethernet control that provides a graphical user interface option.

Extron 60-641-02 – SMB 103 Surface Mount Box: The surface mount box provides easy installation for the keypad control on the top of the lectern.

Extron 60-716-0A - Cable Cubby 200 with AC: The unit is a surface-mounted enclosure for cable, A/V, data and AC power connections

Extron 26-566-02 - Extron VGA Cable w/Audio (6 feet): The 6 foot long cable utilizes five 30 AWG micro high resolution coaxial conductors terminated with 15-pin HD male connectors and an audio cable terminated with 3.5 mm mini plugs

Extron 26-238-18 - Extron VGA Cable (50 feet): The 50 foot long VGA molded connector cable with 15-pin HD male connectors on each end provides high performance transmission of computer video and ID bit signals.

Extron 26-650-50 - Extron HDMI Cable (50 feet): The 50 foot long HDMI cable provides high performance transmission of HDMI digital video and audio signals. This cable length conforms to HDMI High Speed Specifications and supports signals up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz without a cable equalizer.

Extron 26-518-01 - Extron RS232 Cable (50 feet): The 50 foot long Universal Control cable provides universal projector control communications between the switcher and most RS232 controllable displays.

Extron 26-383-13 - Extron BNC Cable (RG6 BNC/35 feet): The 35 foot long RG6 BNC cable is used for most applications that require lengthy runs of high resolution analog video signals. The cable is constructed of one 18 AWG, 75 ohm coaxial conductor terminated with 75 ohm BNC connectors which can be used in a variety of configurations with any computer, video, or audio-visual component.

Cables to Go 27156 – Cables to Go CAT6 Cable 550 MHz (50 feet): The 50 foot long CAT6 cable used for voice/data/video distribution will handle bandwidth-intensive applications up to 550 MHz. The cable meets all CAT6 standards, and drastically reduces both impedance and structural return loss (SRL) when compared to standard 100 MHz wire.

Cables to Go 27157 – Cables to Go CAT6 Cable 550 MHz (100 feet): The 100 foot long CAT6 cable used for voice/data/video distribution will handle bandwidth-intensive applications up to 550 MHz. The cable meets all CAT6 standards, and drastically reduces both impedance and structural return loss (SRL) when compared to standard 100 MHz wire.

Hall Research UH-2C-3S – Hall Research HDMI over CAT6 (1x3) Sender: This device will split and send a DVI/HDMI signal to 3 displays. The built-in extension transmits audio/video signal to 150 feet @ 1080p on two (2) CAT6 cables.

Hall Research UH-2C-R – Hall Research HDMI over CAT6 Receiver: This receiving device re-aligns and generates a clean pixel clock for the display, thereby taking out any skew that may have been induced in the cable.

Hall Research UVA-4 – Hall Research VGA over CAT6 (1x3) Sender: This device has four (4) outputs to split and send your computer video and audio to remote locations with excellent image integrity and audio quality on CAT6 cable.

Hall Research URA-SKU – Hall Research VGA over CAT6 Receiver: This device will receive Video and Audio over CAT6 cables with built-in skew correction and fully compensate for both high-frequency attenuation and color skew in long runs.

Input Jack - For Portable Wireless Microphone: The input jack provides connections to the podium unit with a mounting plate. This includes a 9-pin D Female to Female Gender Changer (Extron Part # 70-434-11), an XLR 3-pin Female to Solder Cups (Extron Part # 70-296-12), and a CPM-101 mounting plate (Exton Part # 60-583-11).

Furman PL-8C - Power Conditioner: The power conditioner provides series multi-stage protection, linear filtering technology, extreme voltage shutdown in a sturdy rack-mountable design. Maximun output current is 15 Amps, and an operating voltage range from 90 to 139 VAC.

Crown 1160MA - Power Amplifier Mixer: This unit has 4 inputs and one 160 Watts power amplifier for single zone systems. Other features include priority muting, phantom power, capability for remote volume control, and reduced level of background noise and static.

Sony DVP-NS710H – DVD Player: The compact unit makes your existing standard DVDs look better with High Definition by upscaling to 1080p over HDMI connections. The player supports a wide variety of formats including DVD, DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW+, DVD+R, and CD-R, CD-RW discs.

DBX DriveRack 260 – Digital Signal Processor: The unit provides full bypass and crossover configurations, as well as independent output processing. This is achieved with two independent channels of processing power and a linkable 28-band graphic equalizer. This will allow the audio to be split for the two separate classrooms, or combined for one large room configuration.

Eiki LC-WB42NA - LCD Projector: The compact unit provides 3800 ANSI lumens and supports analog and digital video input in all color standards up to 1080p. The 3 panel LCD imaging delivers a rich, color-saturated picture. This projector will be used for the large classroom configuration with its brighter resolution.

Eiki LC-WB100 - LCD Projector: The compact unit provides 2500 ANSI lumens and supports analog and digital video input in all color standards up to 1080p. The 3 panel LCD imaging delivers a rich, color-saturated picture.

Da-Lite 40973 - Single Motor Low-Voltage Interface: The motor low-voltage control system can be used with a 3-button wall switch to provide separate up, down, and stop commands for the motorized projector screen.

Middle Atlantic Rackshelf - PC/Sat/DVD VCR: The Custom Rackshelf unit (Middle Atlantic Part # RSH) provides adjustable shelves that are required in the new podiums. U1 and U2 are standard size shelves for the new podiums. This includes a face with cutout, ears, bottom piece, and all required connectors.

VFI PD-3004 – Podium: The unit made from furniture laminates provides a large work surface (28”w x 24”d), a large storage cabinet (28”w x 23”d x 23”h), front and rear locking doors, slide out keyboard shelf, adjustable interior shelf, cable ports, a flip up shelf, and casters with brakes for easy maneuvering (Dark Cherry).

VFI RMT- 14-RU - Rackmount Kit for Podium: The rack frame kit replaces the interior shelf for the podium.

VFI Rack-12 – Mobile Rack for Podium: This unit provides additional storage for resources adjacent to the podium.

VFI 9031-1 – Utility Shelf for Mobile Rack: This is a shelf unit for the mobile rack to provide additional storage levels.

Wiremold – Floor wiremold is required to install new wiring from the Podium control panel to the new AV equipment such as the projectors and speakers.

Install Miscellaneous Microphone Cables: Service to be provided by contractor.

Install Miscellaneous Cables, Wiremold, and Accessories: All cables and wires in the podium shall be tied neatly to allow maintenance personnel to trace connections when necessary. Service to be provided by contractor.

Install PC/Sat/DVD VCR: Service to be provided by the contractor.

1.3.7 Installation and Documentation Requirements

The contractor will be responsible for all electrical and communication connections to the equipment components necessary to provide an operational audio video system. There are electrical and communication outlets available in the training room to hook up the primary components in the podium. The government will not be responsible for the installation of any electrical power required for the audio video system. The performance period for the contractor to complete the training room will be 90 days. The schedule of work will be coordinated with the Government Point of Contact and the DDJC Facilities Engineering Office based on the training room schedule during this timeframe. The contractor will be required to receive all equipment components prior to the start of work. The contractor is required to provide his own equipment and tools to accomplish this work which includes ladders.

Upon completion of installation, the contractor must provide documentation and training for the new audio video systems. The documentation will consist of: 1) a wire diagram that shows how the primary components are connected in the operating system, 2) an owner’s manual for each equipment component, and 3) a system operation instruction manual for each installed system. The contractor will provide training for each installed system by performing a demonstration of how to operate each of the equipment components. The main DDJC training instructors will attend this contractor-led demonstration to learn how to use the new audio video prior to the completion of the project.
