STATEMENT OF WORK

Makah National Fish Hatchery (NFH)

Generator Switch Repair

1. GENERAL:

• Repair communication between two automated transfer switches (ATS) and two 450kw generators.

• Existing ATS configuration doesn’t allow for the generators to operate from either ATS unit (there are two separate ATS devices).

• Current issue could be the four way rotary switch, timer relay, alarm panel wiring, or an unknown problem.

• The existing Eaton SPD Series surge protective device on ATS #2 needs to be replaced along with repairing the communication between generators and ATS #1 and #2.

2. DEFINITIONS:

• Generator #1: Make: Cummins/Year:2013/Model:DFEJ-1335491/SN:I130562068

• Generator #2: Make: CAT/Year:2017/Model:450/SN:CAT00C15PT3300201

• ATS #1 & #2: Make: Eaton/Cutler-Hammer/Year:2010/Model:1600amp480v/

GO#kw601182/Job#ese0006492

3. SCOPE:

• Identify communication issues between Makah NFH’s two generators and two ATS switches.

• Properly repair communication so that each generator will run from either ATS (we run one generator at a time).

• Remove and replace Eaton SPD Series surge protective device from ATS#2.

4. REQUIREMENTS:

• While work is being performed generator use will not be interrupted. Generators provide back-up power for the hatchery and are critical to fish survival in an emergency. Short periods of interruption are acceptable and can be scheduled with Makah NFH’s Maintenance Mechanic.

• The generators are tied into the Makah NFH’s emergency alarm system.

Communication with the alarm system must be maintained and remain intact at the end of the project.

5. PLACE/DELIVERY AND PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:

• Makah National Fish Hatchery 897 Hatchery Road Neah Bay, WA 98357

Period of Performance

• Will be determined between mutual agreement between contractor and hatchery management.

• Work shall be coordinated with Kristin Bates at 360-645-2521 or by email at kristin_bates@fws.gov mailto:kristin_bates@fws.gov
