The system must integrate with VISTA, CPSR, MMIS and EMR systems to provide automated bidirectional traceability of implants. It must manage lifecycles, receive inventory, provide alerts and reports, allow two-way audits, and identify recalled implants. Required are storage cabinets, a refrigerator, barcode scanners, printers and labels, as well as software implementation, training, and annual licensing and support fees. The related federal contract opportunity is a small business set-aside solicitation issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs for this implant tracking system, with responses due under solicitation number 36C25923Q0881 to Veterans Integrated Service Network 19.

Statement of Work
Implant tracking system
Background
Per the Western Colorado Health Care System there is a need to meet The Joint Commission requirements to have a system in place for the tracking of all implants used throughout the facility, including biological and non-biological implants. The implant tracking system needs to be a combination of software and cabinet storage hardware which provides bidirectional traceability of implants at the point of use.
Description
The implant tracking system streamlines facility processes and helps organizations effectively manage inventory to reduce waste, optimize efficiency and ensure patient safety and delivery of high-quality care. Implant tracking systems also automate the chain of custody for tissue and implants and automatically track inventory at the point of use.
