Statement of Work and Specifications for Mobile Safety Shoe Vendor

A Safety Shoe Truck will be brought to the NASA Glenn Research Center picnic grounds two times a year to perform a fitting and allow employees to purchase safety shoes. The government will allow a subsidiary per pair of shoes with one pair of shoes allowed per employee per year with excess cost being covered by the employee. Going offsite to obtain these items can be viewed as a hassle by employees or ordering something online without trying it on can lead to ill-fitting shoes that cause ergonomic issues for the employee. The mobile store encourages employees to participate in the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program so that they can be protected from the hazards that they encounter on the job site. This is done by offering the convenience of not having to leave the job site, allowing individuals to try on shoes to ensure their comfort and the opportunity to speak with the vendors to get a shoe that meets their individual needs. Having the vendor on site also lends to less lost work hours as employees will not have to travel to a permanent store in order to receive the necessary

PPE.

Notes:

Paula Umlauf and Patricia Conroy are the ONLY personnel authorized to schedule truck visits.

In an effort to eliminate excess paperwork and processing, please structure invoicing to one invoice per truck visit to include all shoes sold at time of visit.

All shoes must meet criteria for protective footwear and shall comply with ANSI Z41-1991, American National Standard for Personal Protection—Protective Footwear.

The shoes shall cost or less a pair with any excess cost being covered by the employee purchasing them.

The company must be able to split purchases like this.
