About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a high accuracy autocollimator required for the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) Engineering Development Unit (EDU) Telescope.

The SOW requires the contractor to deliver an autocollimator capable of measuring angles with an accuracy of better than 1 micro-radian (approximately 0.2 arcsec) within an angular range of 20 microradians (about 4 arcsec), in two measurement axes. The autocollimator must provide digital angle readout, be compatible with an RS232/USB interface, and be remotely operable. The contractor must also provide a power supply unit, transportation/storage box, and ship the equipment to NASA/GSFC in Greenbelt, MD. The period of performance is 20 weeks from receipt of the order.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements The Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) Engineering Development Unit (EDU) Telescope requires a high accuracy autocollimator. Both the LISA prototype and flight telescope will undergo testing at NASA/GSFC, including wavefront error testing which utilizes a double-pass measurement with a reference flat. An independent witness of the flat mirror's angle with respect to the metrology apparatus will provide useful back-out corrections to various optical measurements. The field of view of the telescope is quite small, having an angular radius of around 20 micro-radians, but the desired accuracy of angular measurement is also quite tight, with a goal of less than one micro-radian.

2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs

The contractor shall perform the following duties:

Deliver a high accuracy autocollimator capable of measuring angles with an accuracy of better than 1 micro-radian (approximately 0.2 arcsec) within an angular range of ±20 microradians (about 4 arcsec), in two measurement axes.

The autocollimator will be capable of providing digital angle readout, as well as being compatible with an RS232/USB interface.

The autocollimator shall be remotely operatable.

Any required power supply unit, as well as a transportation and/or storage box shall also be provided.

Once ready, the equipment shall be shipped to

Ryan DeRosa NASA/GSFC Code 663 Building 34/Room C105 8800 Greenbelt Rd Greenbelt, MD, 20771

3. Place of Performance The equipment shall be prepared for use and shipping at the vendor's premises.

4. Period of Performance The autocollimator shall be delivered within 20 weeks of receipt of order.
