Statement of Work Snowmobile

Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument (KAWW)

Purpose: The KAWW Visitor and Resource Protection Division needs a snowmobile to conduct winter operations. The snowmobile will be used for solo operations and needs to have features that minimize the risk of injury, delay, or disruption of Law Enforcement or Search and Rescue missions. The snowmobile needs to be capable of handling harsh conditions while carrying equipment and personnel. Below are the stated minimums that shall be included on the snowmobile:

-4-stroke engine with a minimum of 890cc.

-Engine must be efficient with a high fuel economy to support extended backcountry patrols with limited access to refueling. Range should be approximately 200 miles.

-20" wide track to improve traction and support towing heavy loads

-Trailer hitch to support towing equipment or patients utilizing J or hook style hitch.

-A glovebox and 135 liter cargo box mounted on the rear. The cargo box shall be easily removable by rider based on mission needs.

-Heated hand grips and Grab handle.

-Extra high Windshield: minimum of 25 inches high

-Wrap-around bumpers protect the nose of the snowmobile

-Full Body skid plates

-Passenger seat

-Base model under 700 lbs dry weight before additional attachments.

Delivery:

All add-on parts shall be fitted to the snowmobile by vendor before delivery. Vendor shall deliver the snowmobile to:
