STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
A. GENERAL INFORMATION
1. TITLE OF PROJECT: Service Contract for Bruker MALDI Sirius Biotyper (EE189268) and IR Biotyper (EE189746) Instruments
2. SCOPE OF WORK: The Research Department located at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS), 1901 S. 1st Street, Temple, Texas requests a new service contract to cover three (3) years of maintenance, one base year and two option years, for the Bruker MALDI Sirius Biotyper (EE189268) and the IR Biotyper (EE189746) instruments. Requested service contract should begin no later than May 12, 2023.
BACKGROUND: Dr. Jinadatha’s Infectious Disease Research requests a new service contract for two pieces of recently acquired equipment: the Bruker Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time of Flight (MALDI-TOF) Mass Spectrometer (MALDI Sirius Biotyper) and Infrared Spectroscopy Subtyper System (IR Biotyper). Both instruments are located in Research Building 205, Room 2R29. These are critical pieces of equipment that are required for completion of VA-funded, as well as NIH-funded research projects at our facility. Service contracts are to start one year from instrument purchase date. The C&A requirements do not apply, and a Security Accreditation Package is not required.
DESCRIPTION of SERVICES: This requested service contract, to begin no later than May 12, 2023, should cover all of the following items for each instrument, the MALDI Sirius Biotyper and the IR Biotyper:
1. Unlimited priority remote support
2. MBT Compass SW and data analysis software upgrades
3. Regular maintenance work and parts
4. Unlimited repair on-site visits, including spare parts
5. Wear and tear part replacement
6. One preventative maintenance visit per year
7. On-site response within 3-5 business days
8. Services may only be performed by instrument manufacturer certified technicians
9. Contractors will come onsite for repairs only when research personnel are available to escort and provide access, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-4pm. Contractors will not attempt to service equipment on outside of previously mentioned hours, on weekends or the following holidays:
a. New Year’s Day (January 1), Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr (Third Monday in January), Washington's Birthday (Third Monday in February), Memorial Day (Last Monday in May), Juneteenth National Independence Day (June 19), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (First Monday in September), Columbus Day (Second Monday in October), Veterans Day (November 11), Thanksgiving Day (Fourth Thursday in November), Christmas Day (December 25)
10. All service repairs will be called in by selected research technicians designated by COR SERVICE and WARRANTY: All services must be performed by Bruker Scientific trained Application Specialists or In-Field Automation Specialists, service provided by anyone other than Bruker Scientific will void warranty and future service contracts with Bruker Scientific. Service contract should cover base year and two option years for each instrument.
