This document is a sources sought notice for terra cotta repairs on a federal building in Chicago. The General Services Administration is seeking qualified small businesses to selectively demolish and remove damaged terra cotta units, temporarily stabilize remaining facade elements, fabricate and install custom matching replacement units, and perform joint repointing, sealant installation, and minor repairs on the 536 S. Clark Federal Building. Interested firms must have completed at least five similar terra cotta repair and replacement projects in the past five years. Specifically, the contractor must be able to demonstrate experience in exterior masonry work, terra cotta dismantling and resetting, matching material manufacture, patching and crack repair on terra cotta, cast stone, or natural stone. Firms should submit details on qualification projects to Gregory Karpovics at gregory.karpovics@gsa.gov by February 24, 2022. The building is contributing to the Printer's Row Historic District and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
