SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS

≈ 18 ft. “Flat bottomed – Electroshocking” Work Boat with Trailer.

It is the intent of these specifications to describe the general design and function required for an outboard motor power driven aluminum mono - hybrid flat-bottomed/ modified V – hulled vessel, with open-style Console/helm (hereafter referred to as the ‘boat’) capable of performing the following functions:

nearshore open-water fisheries surveys using electroshocking techniques to sample various fishes in the Great lakes.

(Please note that for the purposes of design and operation, the US Geological Survey (USGS) defines this class of ‘workboat’ vessel (under 26 ft) according to US Coast Guard (USCG) regs as a pleasure craft (“not to carry passengers for hire or warships…”), as opposed to Commercial Vessel, and therefore would follow USCG recommendations/certifications for vessel design of this nature.)

Vendor/manufacturer will provide warranty documentation for the materials and workmanship of the vessel hull and materials for a minimum of 1 (one) year from acceptance/receipt of supplies/services. In addition, the vendor/manufacturer will provide warranty documentation of all major 3rd-party components (engines, electronics, etc.) used in the assembly process of this item, where warranty is honored by these 3rd-party suppliers.

Item 1: Base vessel configuration and requirements (all items on this list must be included as specified in the base quote subtotal). The Boat must meet or exceed the following criteria:

a) Hull construction; all aluminum, welded design, crafted from marine grade aluminum which meets or exceeds American Society for Testing and Materials “ASTM” specifications for use in marine applications. Material thickness minimums include; 0.125” sides; 0.190” bottom and transom.
