Section B: Description of the Supplies/Services Required

Requirement for RoboCrib Vending System Solution for bench stock management IAW Air Force Instruction (AFI) 21-101. The system shall include one (1) each Robocrib LX2000 dispensing station with ability to hold at least 2500 parts, w/19” Touchscreen with Client/Server Software License with configurable bin upgrade, management station PC, ScaleMate, 5 year standard DoD warranty, various cup pie sizes, two custom reports, installation/setup and training by authorized vendor, and shipping to Edwards AFB.

Section C: Justification for Soliciting from a Single Source or Brand Name

The current requirement for the bench stock management system/solution can only be satisfied by AutoCrib due to agency needs. The Autocrib Robocrib LX2000 is the required item. The requiring activity is limited in space and requires the parts vending machine to operate on a stand-alone client/server. The Robocrib LX2000 is the only vending machine that can meet the size requirements based on the limited area available to place it in. In addition, there are no known vendors that provide a stand-alone system that has the ability for field configuration allowing the requiring activity the ability to determine the size of bins needed as their requirements/parts change or are added.

Acquiring this brand equipment will provide standardization throughout the agencies on Edwards AFB, and enable continuity of cross training and trouble-shooting across the . The AutoCrib software is currently in use on Edwards AFB at the and the This system allows the individual users to scan their CAC cards and input a Job Control Number (JCN) to get the required items. This system can compile data on demand and usage rates based on user and job information that is input into the system as required to get required parts.

In addition, the agency has a requirement to track all parts that are removed and what they are being used on.

Lastly, the AutoCrib management systems have enterprise-wide network capabilities for the viewing and management of additional parts and tool crib management as required for future expansion. The manufacturer offers an option for a customer provided wifi enabled or cradle point, manufacturer hosted network that no other vendor provides.

Section D: Efforts to Obtain Competition

The results of market research indicate these are brand name items, peculiar to one manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted and provided a list of authorized resellers. Authorized resellers were contacted and each provided a quote. Since there are currently other agencies on the installation that are using the same system, efforts were made to obtain competition for the required item. that were found to have the capability of meeting this requirement.

Section E: Steps to Preclude Future Single Source or Brand Name Awards

The requiring activity and acquisition team will continue to conduct market research. However at this time Autocrib is the only vendor that can meet current requirements.

I have determined, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), that the circumstances of this contract action deem only a single source is reasonably available.
