Scope of Work

The Independent Contractor agrees to the following:

1) Provide technical assistance and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Maintain a rapport with public, private, and charter educational institutions and act as a liaison for the Ohio Traffic Safety Office and its initiatives.

2) Provide technical assistance and respond to driving schools operated by public institution and/or their instructors for compliance questions as requested. Maintain a rapport with stakeholders, public driving schools, managers, and instructors. Act as a liaison for the Ohio Traffic Safety Office and initiatives.

3) Act as subject matter expert for educational entities to assist with regulatory requirements to open driver training schools or otherwise offer driver training.

4) Work with designated Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) contacts to increase access to driver training in school settings, to include partnering with DEW to encourage adoption of driver training programs by educational institutions in the state.

5) Prepare reports as requested based upon meetings with educational entities.

6) Assist with developing and revising program policies and procedures related to the operation of driving schools by public educational institutions.

7) Provide support and assistance to educational entities that are interested in applying for licensure to become a Driver Training school in Ohio.

8) Participate in staff meetings to review direction of program, plan for trainings and discuss and review information.

9) Assist with public forums and meetings with current and potential public driving schools, in particular educational entities, to include preparing and presenting materials.

10) Maintain accurate and complete records of educational entity communications and contractor activities.

11) Maintain open communication with Ohio Traffic Safety Office staff.

12) Meet on a regular basis as scheduled and correspond with Ohio Traffic Safety Office staff.

13) Travel throughout the state to visit and assist educational entities, liaise with potential new driver training schools, and perform contract duties.

14) The Independent Contractor will provide his/her own vehicle and phone and will maintain cell phone service, internet access, and email functions during the term of this contract.

15) Maintain accurate, itemized, and complete time and expense records of services provided.
