SB600 Technical Requirements

Capability Threshold Requirement Objective Requirement

Command Destruct The SB600 shall allow for a command destruct capability by the operator.

T=O

Communications The SB600 shall have a secure Digital Data Link (DDL).

The SB600 shall provide secure uplink and downlink, real-time, full motion video between Fire Control Unit (FCU) and missile by means of DDL.

The system shall be able to hand off control of a missile in flight from one FCU to another without data transmission interference between the two FCU’s.

The SB600 shall have a Digital Data Link (DDL) that is able to provide NSA Approved encryption.

The system performance shall be resistant to degradation in the presence of EW and electronic countermeasures.

The system shall be able to communicate with more than one missile simultaneously from a single

FCU.

Cybersecurity The SB600 design shall adhere to applicable standards within the DoD in accordance with DoDI 8510.01 National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800 series Special Publications (SP) for Risk Management Framework (RMF) and comply with DoDI 5200.44 for the protection of critical components and functions to include Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 252.204-7012 and 252.204-7008.

T=O

Endurance The SB600 shall have a flight endurance of ≥ 45 minutes in winds less than 10 knots and no precipitation.

The missile shall have a flight endurance ≥60 minutes in winds up to 25 knots and light precipitation.

Environmental Conditions

The SB600 AUR shall operate at temperature ranges from -4º Fahrenheit

(F) to +122º F and withstand storage from -40º F to + 131º F.

The SB600 FCU shall operate at temperature ranges from 0º Fahrenheit

(F) to +122º F and withstand storage from -40º F to + 158º F.

The SB600 AUR shall operate at temperature ranges from -25º Fahrenheit (F) to 140˚F and withstand storage from -60º F to + 160º F.

The SB600 FCU shall operate at temperature ranges from -25º Fahrenheit (F) to 140˚F and withstand storage from -60º F to + 160º F.

Lethality The SB600 must be able to penetrate the base armor of threat Tier 1 Main Battle Tanks (MBT).

The SB600 operator must be able to penetrate Explosive Reactive Armor

(ERA).

Loss of Link (LoL) The SB600 shall have a default LoL waypoint equal to launch point; LoL waypoint shall be reprogrammable at any time during operation.

The SB600 operator shall be responsible for arming and disarming the missile.

The SB600 shall, when armed and in terminal approach and lock, continue target prosecution.

When armed and in waypoint progression, if the SB600 loses link it will automatically disarm and go to preprogrammed LoL waypoint. If the SB600 is not armed and in terminal approach and lock, it will fly to the preprogrammed LoL waypoint.

If the SB600 does not reacquire signal, it shall continue to orbit the LoL waypoint until the battery is completely expended.

T=O

Missile Status The SB600 system status transmitted to the FCU shall include missile location, armed or safe indication, and system fault indications on the live-warhead.

T=O

Multi-pack Configuration

The SB600 shall have the capability to launch unmodified AURs in a multi-pack configured system.

T=O

Payload Options The SB600 shall allow alternative payload(s).

T=O

Positioning Navigation and Timing

The SB600 shall be compliant with Public Law 111-383 section 913 for the Global Positioning System.

The SB600 shall have the option for a non-U.S. military exportability configuration.

The SB600 status transmitted to the FCU shall include missile location in a GPS aided environment.

The SB600 system status transmitted to the FCU shall include missile location in a GPS denied/degraded environment.

Range The SB600 shall successfully engage a ground target at a range of up to 40 km (60/90 km with FCU handoff).

SB600 shall successfully engage a ground target at a range of up to 100km-120 km.

Target Engagement The SB600 FCU shall provide the operator the following capabilities:

autonomously or manually control the missiles in flight, wave-off, wave-off and redirect; select predetermined targets using geo-location reference; and loiter, arm/disarm, and destruct.

The SB600 operator shall have the ability to wave-off and redirect the flight path ≥ 4 seconds prior to impact.

The system shall automatically disarm upon wave-off.

Target Tracking The SB600 shall automatically track/continually adjust track gates for changes in angle, range and sudden movement of a designated stationary or fleeting target–in the open or cluttered environment–with no further operator input.

The SB600 should have the additional ability to automatically adjust camera zoom levels to provide the best situational awareness for given flight dynamics (i.e., airspeed, pitch, yaw, roll) to fly the missile to the target and have the ability to maintain continuous

The SB600 operator shall have the ability to update tracking aim point to impact.

observation of the target until prosecution.

Simulation Training Device

The SB600 training device shall allow operators to conduct operator proficiency, emergency procedures, and mission planning/rehearsal.

The SB600 FCU shall include an embedded training device that allows units to conduct operator proficiency, emergency procedures, and mission planning /rehearsal.

The integrated trainer shall enable networked collective training and simulation capability
