Statement of Work
Linear Dual Rail System
I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Security Technologies Group (STG) of the Materials Measurement Laboratory develops metrology and technology to support the needs of the emergency response, law enforcement, and corrections communities. As part of this research, investigators perform ballistics testing of body armor that may be worn in these professions. Ballistics testing utilizes a linear rail system to allow for instruments and targets, such as body armor, to be positioned at a safe distance from researchers so that they can be tested against similar impactful simulations as individuals would experience on the job these fields. Therefore, this procurement directly supports the development of materials used in Body Armor.
II. SPECIFICATIONS
The Contractor shall deliver two each linear dual rail systems with infinite positioning, self-aligning, locking break integrated carriages. The rail and carriage system must allow for future expansion with off the shelf components.
