GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS

TITLE: Procurement of 4 Turbo Molecular Pumping Stations

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

I. Chemical Sciences Division Gas Sensing and Metrology Group develops new methodologies and instrumentation for the measurement of gas phase molecular absorption features. These methodologies and instrumentation include novel spectrometers that offer ultra-high sensitivity to trace gases, high fidelity and reproducibility in measured concentrations, and precision gas metrology. NIST is developing several new spectrometers and require pumping stations for gas handling and evacuation. Pressure control and evacuation of spectrometers is integral to gas spectroscopy. NIST requires oil-free vacuum pumps with low ultimate pressure to meet the gas handling requirements of the experiments of the Gas Sensing and Metrology

Group. .

II. SPECIFICATIONS

The Contractor shall provide four (4) turbo molecular pumping stations that meet the following minimum technical specifications:

Pumping Station requirements:

- Units must be Oil-free, dry pumps

- Units shall have a Minimum pumping speed of 50 L/s

- Units shall have an Ultimate pressure < 10-8 mbar

- Equipment must have Flange: DN 63

- Shall be complete systems including backing and turbo pump, controllers and all required cables

- The maximum foot print of these units must be 14” x 14” = 1.4 ft2

Warranty:

The Contractor shall provide, at a minimum, a one-year warranty for the equipment. The warranty shall cover all parts, labor and travel. The warranty shall commence upon successful completion of delivery and installation of all required specifications.
