Amendment 0001
The purposes of this amendment are to:
1. Extend the response date of this solicitation from 8/7/2015 at 12 p.m. EST to 8/12/2015 at 12 p.m. EST
2. Publicly provide answers to questions posed by interested parties.
A. Question is: Is “Intel Ivy Bridge E5-2630v2 e.6Ghz 6-core CPUs” a hard requirement or will the newer processors (Haswell E5-26xxv3) be preferred and if so is it speed (Ghz) or cores preferred?
This is a hard requirement. In order to guarantee 100 % compatibility with existing nodes we need the cpu hardware and infiniband network hardware to be the same as on existing nodes i.e., as specified in the procurement request.
B. Does NIST require Intel Ivy Bridge E5-2630 v2 processors and DDR3 memory?
Yes
C. Will a cluster system with Intel Haswell E5-2630 v3 processors and DDR4 memory be accepted?
No
D. For the system hard drive, Does NIST Require Enterprise grade hard drives or will desktop grade hard drives be accepted?
Enterprise grade hard drives
E. For the 36 port QLogic QDR Infiniband switches, is this a hard requirement or will NIST accept another brand switch that is compatiable with the IB Spine switch?
This is a hard requirement
