About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA Langley Research Center's requirement to purchase an Anton Paar Litesizer DIA 700 Dynamic Image Analyzer System or equivalent. The procurement includes the main analyzer unit with a dynamic image sizing range of 0.5-16,000 μm, a liquid flow dispersion unit with integrated ultrasonication, a dry jet dispersion unit for powders, and a 110V vacuum cleaner. Additional required components include a dedicated computer, monitor, Kalliope Professional software, and two particle size standards.

The system is designed for comprehensive particle analysis, with technical requirements including precise single-particle resolution, interchangeable dispersion units for both wet and dry particle evaluation, advanced particle filtering by size and shape, and simultaneous size, shape, and image analysis capabilities. The delivery location is NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA, with an approximate delivery timeline of 5-7 weeks after receipt of order (ARO) and a final delivery deadline of September 30, 2025. The procurement also includes two preventive maintenance on-site service visits by a certified Anton Paar service engineer.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements

NASA Langley Research Center requires the purchase of (1) Anton Paar Litesizer DIA 700 Dynamic Image Analyzer System (or Equivalent) to characterize perform particle analysis, including particle size, shape, and distribution.

2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs

Technical requirements:

• Particle size range coverage from 0.5 μm to 16,000 μm from fine dust simulants to large regolith particles

• Measurement precision with single particle resolution

• Interchangeable dispersion units that allow for liquid flow (wet dispersions) and dry jet (compressed air) feed of particles to transition between dispersion methods to evaluate both dry particles and wet dispersions in one system

• Advanced particle filtering by size and shape

• Complete particle characterization for simultaneous size, shape, and image analysis
