About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA Ames Research Center's procurement of an Intensified Charge Coupled Device (ICCD) camera for the ESM Project to characterize shock wave properties. The required camera is a Teledyne PI-MAX 4 1024i ICCD Intensified Camera System with specific technical specifications, including a 1024 x 1024 pixel array, sensitivity range of 120-300 nm, peak quantum efficiency >18%, programmable integration time, thermoelectric cooling to -20°C, and capability of collecting multiple frames at 2 µs intervals. The procurement also includes a P46 Phosphor option and a second copy of LightField Software.

The camera will be delivered to NASA Ames Research Center, with a performance period of 3-4 weeks after receipt of order (ARO). The primary objective is to replace a nearly 20-year-old camera that is no longer supported, enabling critical measurements for characterizing high-speed planetary entry for destinations like Mars and Earth re-entry. The solicitation emphasizes the need for a camera with vacuum ultraviolet spectroscopy capabilities and an interline CCD feature to allow multiple rapid acquisitions.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objective/Requirements

The ESM Project utilizes Intensified Charge Coupled Device (ICCDs, also referred to as a camera) to characterize shock wave properties in the Electric Arc Shock Tube at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC). This procurement is for an ICCD with sensitivity in the Vacuum Ultraviolet to replace an older camera which is no longer available or serviceable. The previous camera was nearly 20 years old and no longer supported by the manufacturer. Since these measurements are critical to characterizing high speed planetary entry for a variety of destinations including Mars and Earth re-entry, a new camera is sought to perform the function of spectroscopy at vacuum ultraviolet wavelengths (roughly 120-200 nm). Additionally, a camera with an interline CCD feature, that allows multiple acquisitions in a short time, is sought.

2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs

The chosen vendor shall provide an Intensified Charge Coupled Device System with the following specifications or equal:
