About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA Glenn Research Center's requirements for a Digital Image Correlation (DIC) system for in-situ strain measurement and full field strain analysis of samples at elevated temperatures. The comprehensive system specification includes a VIC-2D Digital Image Correlation System with specific hardware and software components: Vic-2D 7 software, Vic-Snap LS Image Acquisition Software, Vic-Gauge 2D Real-Time Strain Monitoring Software, a Compact PC with Intel CPU, 2.3 Megapixel digital camera, analog data acquisition system, mounting equipment, and accessories.
Key strain measurement features include real-time data export at up to 140Hz, a customized VIC-Gauge 2D software with ability to snap to ellipse and quadrant markers, and a calibration feature to correct refractive index changes when viewing specimens through glass. The system comes with a one-year CSI Platinum System Maintenance package, unlimited technical support, software upgrades, and a two-year warranty on non-consumables. Delivery is specified as 8-10 weeks to the High Temperature and Smart Alloys Branch at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Digital Image Correlation System Specifications and Requirements
NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) is interested in a Digital Image Correlation (DIC) system to be used for in-situ strain measurement and full field strain analysis to measure the strain of samples at elevated temperatures in an environmental chamber.
Specifically, the DIC system must meet the minimum requirements.
1) VIC-2D Digital Image Correlation System:
a. Vic-2D 7 with iris Digital Image Correlation Analysis Software
b. Vic-Snap LS Image Acquisition Software
c. Vic-Gauge 2D Real-Time Strain Monitoring Software
d. One Compact PC I - Intel CPU, 4TB m.2 + 8 TB SSD, 64GB RAM, Win11, Office, & LCD Monitor
e. One 2.3 Megapixel (1920 x 1200 @ 140 fps) Digital Camera
f. One analog data acquisition system for LS, Gauge, Fulcrum, & HS up to 1MS/s / 8 channels
g. One Aluminum Channel Stereo Mounting System with fine adjustment for low-speed cameras
h. One Manual Trigger Switch
i. One Professional tripod
j. One Super Pro Tripod Head
k. One Professional Tripod Bag
l. Two hard-sided carrying cases for cameras, lenses, and accessories
m. Includes one post-processing license on USB dongle
n. Includes CSI Platinum System Maintenance with unlimited technical support and software upgrades for 1 yr.
o. Two year warranty on all non-consumables
2) Strain Measurement key features:
a. The DIC system must have ability to export virtual strain gauge and/or extensometer data in real-time up to the frame rate of the camera using their VIC-Gauge 2D software. The real-time output will have a maximum rate of 140Hz at full camera resolution. The speed can be further increased at reduced resolutions.
b. Must provide a customized version of the VIC-Gauge 2D software that will have the ability to snap to ellipse and quadrant markers placed on the specimen. A virtual extensometer can then use these two points to output the strain via a +/-10V analog signal.
c. Calibration feature that corrects for changes in the refractive index between the speckle pattern or markers and a stereo camera pair when viewing a specimen through one or more panes of glass (e.g., a viewport of a heating chamber).
3) Delivery 8-10 weeks
