About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's requirements for two GSM19FB v9.0 High Sensitivity Fast Overhauser Magnetometer Base Stations with GPS Option A time reception and adaptation kit for their Magnetic Calibration Facility. The magnetometers are needed to conduct high-precision magnetic field calibration and measurement activities.

The required equipment must meet specific technical specifications including sensitivity better than 0.02 nT, ultra-low noise level, sub-nanotesla resolution, 0.1 nT accuracy, sampling rate of 5 Hz or higher, and rugged construction for environmental durability. Additional requirements include rechargeable batteries with 12+ hour operation, built-in data logging capabilities, USB/serial connectivity, and calibration certificates valid for 12 months. Deliverables include the two magnetometers with standard accessories, calibration certificates, user manuals, and technical documentation.

Procurement of Overhauser Magnetometers for Magne c Calibra on Facility

1. Background

The MagneƟc CalibraƟon Facility requires high‐precision and low‐noise magnetometers to conduct magneƟc field calibraƟon and measurement acƟviƟes with the utmost accuracy. These instruments are criƟcal for ensuring the facility's compliance with industry standards and delivering reliable calibraƟon services. The Overhauser magnetometers, known for their high sensiƟvity, stability, and low noise, have been idenƟfied as the opƟmal soluƟon for these needs.

2. Scope of Work

Procure two GSM‐19FB v9.0 High SensiƟvity Fast Overhauser Magnetometer Base StaƟon with GPS

OpƟon A Ɵme RecepƟon with adaptaƟon Kit to support the facility’s operaƟons. The selected equipment must meet the required technical specificaƟons, delivery, and support services as outlined below.

3. Technical Requirements

The procured magnetometers must meet the following specificaƟons:

1. Sensi vity: BeƩer than 0.02 nT.

2. Noise Level: Ultra‐low, suitable for high‐precision calibraƟon work.

3. Resolu on: Sub‐nanotesla resoluƟon for precise field measurements.

4. Accuracy: Capable of maintaining calibraƟon within ±0.1 nT.

5. Sampling Rate: Adjustable with a maximum of 5 Hz or higher.

6. Environmental Durability: Rugged construcƟon to perform reliably in varying condiƟons, including temperature fluctuaƟons.

7. Power Source: Rechargeable baƩeries with extended operaƟon Ɵmes (12+ hours per charge).

8. Data Logging and Transfer: Built‐in capabiliƟes for data logging and USB/serial connecƟvity for seamless data export.

9. Calibra on Standards: Instruments must include cerƟficates of calibraƟon traceable to recognized standards.

4. Deliverables

Two GEM GSM‐19 Overhauser Magnetometers, including all standard accessories.

CalibraƟon cerƟficates for both instruments, valid for at least 12 months.

User manuals and technical documentaƟon.
