About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of four (4) actuators with specific performance capabilities to support reconfigurable test setups within the SMCB laboratories. The key requirements include:
The actuators must have a minimum pulling force of 44,000 lbs and a minimum pushing force of 55,000 lbs, operated at 3,000 psi hydraulic pressure. They must have a minimum stroke of 20 inches and be equipped with mounting fixtures, linear displacement transducers, and a bolt-on manifold compatible with various servo valve models. The purpose is to increase the capability for multi-axis loading and high-precision compression testing utilizing the existing structural backstop facility.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Brand Name or Equal To solicitation issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center, with a solicitation number of 80NSSC24878404Q. The solicitation is for the delivery of the actuators FOB Destination to the NASA Langley Research Center, with net 30 payment terms. Vendors are required to provide their Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number and lead time/delivery timeframe with their quote.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1.0 Introduction/Background:
In order to increase capability for reconfigurable test setups, e.g., multiaxis loading and high-precision compression loading, the purchase of four (4) actuators capable of at least 40 kips pulling load and at least 55 kips pushing load are being pursued. These actuators would increase capability for utilizing existing facilities within SMCB laboratories, specifically the structural backstop. These actuators would add to existing capability by providing load capabilities in between the capacities of actuators currently in the inventory of SMCB labs. Additionally, these actuators would provide increased stroke capabilities relative to current capabilities.
2.0 Scope of Work:
Contract shall provide four (4) actuators with specifications as defined in Section 4.
3.0 Objectives:
To increase capabilities for reconfigurable, multiactuator, and multiaxis load set ups utilizing the structural backstop within the main SMCB lab.
4.0 Description of the Work/Contractor Tasks:
The contractor shall provide four (4) actuators, or cylinders, with the following specifications:
1. Shall be able to operate at a hydraulic pressure of 3000 psi.
2. Shall be a single rod actuator with theoretical pull force of at least 44,000 lbs and theoretical push force of at least 55,000 lbs
3. Shall have a stroke of at least 20 in.
4. Shall have mounting fixtures on both head (or rod) end and cap end.
a. Shall have a spherical bearing on cap end (equivalent to Parker mounting style SE or SB).
b. Shall have a rectangular or square flange on head end (equivalent to Parker mounting style JJ)
5. Shall be equipped with a linear displacement transducer with linearity of less than ±0.02% full stroke.
6. Shall have a bolt-on manifold with a manifold pattern for Moog 62, 730 and 760 Series servo valves; Parker BD15, PH76, SE20 and SE2E servo valves; as well as MTS 252.2X and 252.4X servo valves. All servo valves listed here fit a one manifold pattern.
5.0 Deliverables:
The contractor shall provide four (4) actuators, or cylinders with the specifications defined in section 4.0.
