Statement of Work for Carbon Seal Replacement
The Stein Seal Replacement kit SSCY14828‐900 is a required Carbon Seal kit that is used in W7 of the Engine Research Building. This seal prevents the leakage of Dexron fluid into the test article/test facility. Significant Engineering has been spent developing this seal and incorporating it into the design of the Legacy Facility Hardware. Specifically, this carbon seal is installed in NASA PN 130601MRA212, sub assembly of Front Bearing Assembly 130601MRA200.
Previous seals have been worn due to normal use, or damaged during improper installation. A qty of 3x of the Replacement kit SSCY14828‐900 is requested to replace worn seals, and replenish stock of damaged seals.
