Text version
SOW
28 GENTEX Drink Facility Assembly units (part G018-4950-02) are needed to be purchased and integrated into 28 Phantom masks of varying sizes (i.e., small narrow, medium narrow, medium wide, and large wide) to allow human test subjects to hydrate during 6-hour extravehicular activity simulations in hypobaric environments. Once the drink port is attached, a mouthpiece should allow the wearer to rotate the mouthpiece to enable drinking. Rotation can be achieved by hand from the outside or by mouth/tongue from within the facepiece. When plugged into either an M40 or M50 compatible canteen, the opened disconnect should allow water to flow from canteen to mouthpiece.
Any modifications to the Phantom mask must be approved by the manufacturer of the masks (GENTEX).
