About this file

This document outlines the technical specifications for a four-point probe system and references a related federal contract opportunity issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center. The statement of work details the physical components, minimum requirements, and operational parameters for the four-point probe system. It must accommodate samples up to 10" x 10" and have a probe head that can position the tungsten carbide probe tips between 0.005" and 6" from the sample surface. The system operates on 120V AC power and can measure sheet resistance from 1 milliohm-per-square to 100 Megaohms-per-square and volume resistivity from 10E-3 to 10E6 ohms-cm, with an accuracy of within 0.3%. The solicitation seeks offers for this four-point probe system to measure electrical conductivity as referenced in the statement of work.

STATEMENT OF WORK – Four-Point Probe System

Physical Components:

• Four-point probe with stand

• Constant current source and meter for use in making the four-point probe measurement

• Resistor kit for use in checking calibration

• Indium tin oxide-coated glass sample for use in checking calibration

Minimum Requirements:

• Accommodate samples up to 10” x 10”

• Probe head can be positioned for sample height between 0.005” and 6”

• Probe has tungsten carbide tips of 100 micron tip radius and with 1.0 mm tip spacing

• Smooth non-conductive surface for sample placement

• Operates in normal laboratory conditions using 120 Volts, 60-Hz, single phase AC power.

• Selectable readout of millivolts, ohms-per-square, or ohms-cm

• Sheet resistance range from 1 milliohm-per-square up to 100 Megaohms-per-square

• Volume resistivity range from 10E-3 to 10E6 ohms-cm.

• Accuracy within 0.3%

• Auto range for best input current level
