About this file
This document outlines a statement of work for a CNC router to be procured by NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center. Key specifications for the router include a 30"x40" cutting area with 5" gantry and weight under 1000 pounds. It must be able to cut hard materials like wood, plastic, aluminum and brass. Required features are ball screw technology for accuracy, linear guide rails and bearings on all axes, an air blower system for chip removal, a material height touch pad, and a wireless handheld controller. Additional options specified are a single zone vacuum table, machine mounted computer and monitor, and a coolant system. The place of performance is NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base. The period of performance is 90 days lead time after contract award. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 80NSSC23846773Q for a router for simulator buildup through the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center.
