About this file

This statement of work describes a demonstration trial of the Siemens Teamcenter Simulation product data management tool. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration seeks to implement Teamcenter Simulation at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center to enable engineering teams to more effectively manage and collaborate on simulation data, workflows, and processes within a complete digital product development environment. The 12-month trial will demonstrate capabilities for standardizing and repeating simulation processes, providing access to simulation data across the enterprise and to suppliers, and enabling visibility of design, simulation, and test configurations. Teamcenter Simulation provides comprehensive data modeling, simulation process frameworks for exchange with various simulation software, 3D model visualization, revision control, and post-processing of model results. The implementation phase services support will last six weeks, with the period of performance for the overall trial spanning 12 months.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Dave Whitten dave.whitten@nasa.gov

1. Objective/Requirements

Perform demonstration trial of the Siemens Simulation Product Data Management (SPDM) tool – Teamcenter Simulation (TC4Sim). With the implementation of TC4Sim at NASA MSFC, this project will allow analysts to manage and collaborate simulation data and process within Teamcenter to enable engineering teams to use simulation specific data, workflow and process management capabilities more effectively in a complete digital product development environment. This demonstration will inform NASA on capabilities of the Siemen SPDM and inform future decisions on investing in the capability.

2. Characteristics and Scope

TC4Sim addresses the needs of engineering groups by demonstrating the following:

• Standard and repeatable processes for simulation that can be leveraged by both specialists and occasional users.

• Access to simulation data for an increasingly diverse population of users across the enterprise and suppliers.

• Visibility of design, simulation, and test configurations.

• Workgroup and enterprise-wide simulation management

Simulation-specific capabilities include:

• Simulation Data Model Management o Comprehensive CAE data model to store and relate product, model, analysis, results data o CAE part and assembly support o CAE structure editor to manage data including product configurations and variant control

• Simulation process framework to manage data exchange with:

o Simcenter 3D o Simcenter FEMAP o Simcenter NASTRAN o Simcenter STAR-CCM+ o Altair Hypermesh o MSC Patran o ROCETS software o ANSYS Workbench o ANSYS Thermal Desktop

• Launch CAE authoring tools directly from the CAE Manager interface

• Compare / Update design and simulation structure

• 3D CAE Model visualization powered by JT mailto:dave.whitten@nasa.gov

• View FE models, results, and motion animation in a CAx-neutral environment

• Revision Control

• Search

• Post-Process Model Results

3. Place of Performance

NASA MSFC on-premises

4. Period of Performance The period of performance for the trial is 12 months with services support for the six-week implementation phase
