About this file

This statement of work outlines sequencing reagents and support required by the NASA GeneLab project. The contractor shall deliver five reagents for ribosomal RNA-depleted sequencing of 480 RNA samples on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000, four 8-pack reagents for sequencing 4 million clusters per library on an Illumina iSeq 100, and seven reagents for sequencing 8-10 billion clusters per library on a NovaSeq 6000, as well as four additional reagents for sequencing 8-10 billion clusters at 200 cycles on a NovaSeq 6000. Delivery of all reagents must occur within 15 days of award, with partial deliveries allowed according to a schedule determined by GeneLab. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 80NSSC23844596Q for reagents issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center.

STATEMENT OF WORK - Sequencing flow cells and support plan

1. Objective/Requirements

The NASA GeneLab project is a BPS (Biological and Physical Sciences) effort to increase the utility and volume of omics data (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, genomics) generated from biological spaceflight experiments. The GeneLab project accomplishes this in part by: 1) by maintaining an open access repository of spaceflight relevant omics data to maximize its use; 2) by generating additional omics data from unused spaceflight material.

GeneLab is generating RNA-sequencing from various tissues from spaceflight missions. To sequencing these libraries, GeneLab required reagents meeting the following requirements:

Five (5) reagents capable of:

a. Generating sequencing libraries depleted of ribosomal RNA fraction from 480 RNA samples

b. Be compatible with the Illumina NovaSeq 6000.

Four (4) 8 pack reagents capable of:

a. Generating 4 million sequencing clusters from a single sequencing library pool.

b. Generating 300 cycles of sequencing data from each cluster (e.g. 150 bp paired end clusters).

c. Be compatible with the Illumina iSeq 100 system.

Seven (7) reagents capable of:

a. Generating 8-10 billion sequencing clusters from a single sequencing library pool.

b. Generating 300 cycles of sequencing data from each cluster (e.g. 150 bp paired end

c. Be compatible with the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 system.

Four (4) reagents capable of:

a. Generating 8-10 billion sequencing clusters from a single sequencing library pool.

b. Generating 200 cycles of sequencing data from each cluster (e.g. 100 bp paired end

c. Be compatible with the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 system.

2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs

The contractor shall perform the following duties:

Delivery of reagents to meet the requirements listed above.

3. Place of Performance

Delivery of reagents to NASA Ames Research Center. Allow for partial delivery.

4. Period of Performance

Reagents shall be delivered within 15 days after award of contract at the earliest, remaining items to be delivered according to a shipping schedule determined by GeneLab. Partial deliveries are allowed.
