About this file
This document outlines technical specifications for a high-speed data acquisition system to support electric propulsion thruster qualification testing for NASA's Lunar Gateway Power and Propulsion Element. The system must include 32 analog input channels sampling at 100 kS/s, 12 analog input channels sampling at 1 MS/s with 1200V isolation, CAN bus communication with 300V isolation, 30 thermocouple input channels sampling over 100 S/s with over 1200V isolation, 10 inch color touch display, 1TB storage, and 8 digital I/O ports. The document requests pricing for specific Dewetron hardware components that meet these specifications, including chassis, timing cards, analog input cards, thermocouple modules, software, cables, and calibration kits. A justification is provided stating the PPE team has already tested Dewetron hardware for compatibility and other systems would require additional testing and delays. Contact information is supplied for Dewetron representatives. This document relates to the federal contract opportunity posted to procure this high-speed data acquisition system in support of NASA's electric propulsion ground testing for the Lunar Gateway.

Specifications
Background:
A high-speed data acquisition system is needed for VF-12 to support electric propulsion thruster qualification activities for the Lunar Gateway Power and Propulsion Element (PPE). This data acquisition system will be responsible for gathering qualification data throughout the test to verify requirements and to monitor the test to ensure parameters remain within safe operating limits.
Specifications:
The requested data acquisition system will meet the following technical requirements:
• GPS time synchronization capabilities with a PPS accuracy of 100 ns or better
• ≥ 32 analog input channels with 18 bit or better resolution at a sampling rate of ≥ 100 kS/s
• ≥ 12 analog input channels with 16 bit or better resolution at a sampling rate of ≥ 1 MS/s with an isolation rating of 1200 V (channel-to-channel and channel-to-chassis)
• CAN Bus communication interface with isolation ≥ 300 V
• ≥ 30 measurement channels capable of accepting type K, J, T,or R thermocouples with a sample rate greater than 100 S/s and an isolation rating greater than 1200 V
• ≥ 10 inch color touch display
• ≥ 1 TB of onboard data storage capacity
• ≥ 8 digital input-output ports compatible with TTL logic levels
• Supplemental software that can support all data acquisition functions of the provided hardware

The PPE team has already performed an integrated checkout test with Dewetron hardware to confirm combability with the system in electric propulsion thruster test flows. Other systems would require additional compatibility testing and would incur additional cost and schedule impacts to the PPE project and could delay planned BHT-6000 test activities in VF-12. See the Dewetron Sole Source Justification document for a more detailed justification.
