About this file
This statement of work outlines consulting services and deployment requirements for a Veritas Flex Appliance primary server instance and NetBackup catalog migration project at NASA's Johnson Space Center. The scope includes planning, designing, implementing, and operationalizing the deployment of a new Flex Appliance primary server with the existing hostname and migrating the catalog from clustered Windows 2012 primary servers scheduled for end of service to the new Flex Appliance server. Veritas will provide project management, conduct site surveys, deploy the Flex instance, migrate the 522GB catalog, and perform functional testing over a 30 day period of remote work. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from NASA's Shared Services Center for the consulting services and deployment defined in the statement of work to be conducted on JSC equipment and remotely.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
Veritas Consulting Services will be used at JSC by the JSC OCIO Storage/Backups team to make changes to the JSC Flex Appliance that is used for backups. Backups currently use 2 physical servers as the master/primary server – those servers are up for obsolescence for EOS on the hardware on the OS. The Flex Appliance allows for the ability to also be used as a primary server. Consulting Services will be used to make this configuration change, which also requires a backups catalog migration since the obsolete physical servers are Windows OS and the Flex Appliance is Linux OS.

Phased Delivery Scope: Veritas will lead the phased delivery activity as follows:
Plan:
1. Conduct Engagement Planning Sessions Relative to:
• Identify Stakeholders and Review roles and responsibilities against this Scope of
Services
• Identify communication and escalation plans
• Identify Customer’s change control policies, maintenance & down-time availability, and backup schedules
• Review and validate project pre-requisites against Veritas product hardware/software compatibility
• Identify expected project timeline and create Initial-DRAFT project timeline
PR Deliverable: Stakeholders Review; Communication; Change; Project Planning MILESTONE PR: PLAN REVIEW Complete and ready to begin DESIGN phase
Design:
1. NetBackup Primary Instance Deployment
• Facilitate a discussion focused on the target Primary Server listed in Table 1, including:
• Verify business and technical requirements
• Review Customer’s current corporate document retention policies and/or electronic communications policies
• Discuss downtime requirements and necessary change windows
• Identify any specific concerns or issues that the Customer is aware of in the environment
• Identify any applicable NetBackup EEBs to be installed post Flex instance creation
• Provide the Customer with a list of identified pre-requisites to be completed prior to beginning the Target Primary Server Instance Deployment of the IMPLEMENTATION phase
Deliverable: Provide and review, with the Customer, a list of pre-requisites for proceeding with the NetBackup Primary Server Instance Deployment
2. NetBackup Site Survey for Catalog Migration
• Facilitate a discussion focused on the existing environment(s) listed in Table 1, including:
• Verify business and technical requirements
• Review Customer’s current corporate document retention policies and/or electronic communications policies
• Identify any specific concerns or issues that the Customer is aware of in the environment
• Conduct a NetBackup site survey reviewing of one (1) source server and one (1) target server
