About this file

This statement of work outlines requirements for renewing a maintenance agreement for FINE/Turbo software. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration seeks to continue using the software to conduct steady and unsteady aerodynamic simulations that support engine noise research under the Advanced Air Transport Technology Project and Commercial Supersonic Technology Project. The simulations analyze candidate fan, open rotor, and turbomachinery designs, and help identify areas for improving noise prediction tools through model and code enhancements. The related solicitation is for maintenance of the FINE/Turbo software to support this ongoing engine noise research being conducted by NASA. The opportunity was issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center as a special notice with solicitation number 80NSSC23838509Q.

Statement of Work in Relation to Renewing the Maintenance Agreement for the FINE/Turbo Software

As part of the planned and ongoing research activities under the NASA Advanced Air Transport Technology (AATT) Project and the Commercial Supersonic Technology (CST) Project, the FINE/Turbo software is used for steady and unsteady aerodynamic simulations that are necessary for fan, open rotor, and turbomachinery noise prediction. The simulation results are compared with wind tunnel and rig data when possible. Ultimately, in conjunction with NASA fan and open rotor noise prediction codes, these simulations are used to (1) assess acoustic performance of candidate fan and open rotor designs, and (2) identify potential shortcomings in prediction tools and devise model/code improvements that may be needed.
