About this file
This document provides guidance on submitting Source Approval Requests (SARs) to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for federal stock numbers. It advises that SARs should be sent directly to the buyer listed on any open solicitation. It cautions that SARs will not be considered for fully competitive items and may not be processed if anticipated demand is too low. Instructions are provided for checking item management and demand forecasts using online tools from DLA Supplier Requirements Visibility Application and Federal Logistics Information System. The review process for SARs submitted to DLA Aviation is estimated to take over 180 days.
The related opportunity describes a sources sought notice issued by DLA Aviation for bearing roller NSN 3110-01-359-8935. Manufacturers are requested to provide their location and points of contact if they can supply this item. While responses are requested to be sent to a DLA Aviation contact, this notice does not constitute a solicitation and the government is under no obligation to award a contract.
