This document provides guidance on submitting Source Approval Requests (SARs) to the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation for federal stock numbers. SARs are accepted for national stock numbers without an open solicitation and should be sent to the DLA Aviation SAR analyst. SARs may not be processed if the item demand is too low. Submitters should review estimated forecasting requirements on the Supplier Requirements Visibility Application and contact all military services managing the item before submitting. To identify managing services and approved sources, submitters can search the PUB LOG FLIS database by national stock number. This document also relates to a sources sought notice for bearing, thrust, part number 3110011589607. The notice requests manufacturers' information for this item, including location and points of contact. Responses will be provided to the contracting officer but do not constitute offers or obligations for future awards.

Source Approval Requests If there is an open solicitation for a national stock number for which you want to submit a SAR, please submit it directly to the buyer noted on the solicitation.
SAR’s will not be evaluated for items that are already designated as fully competitive such as those items coded AMSC “G” and described by drawings and specifications.

SARs may not be processed if it is determined that the SAR is not cost effective due to low item demand.

The review process can take over 180 days from the date the SAR is received by DLA Aviation. Once a decision is made, you will receive a formal notification letter advising you of the results.
