Start Registration When you are ready to start a new entity registration, go to SAM.gov and follow these steps:

1. Select the “Sign In” link at the upper right corner of the page. Select “Accept” to accept the U.S.

Government System terms. After selecting “Accept,” the system will redirect you to login.gov.

2. Login.gov is a service that manages usernames and passwords for SAM.gov. If you already have a login.gov account, sign in with your credentials. Otherwise, select “Create An Account” and follow the prompts.

3. Once you are signed in, the system will redirect you to your SAM.gov Workspace.

4. On the “Entity Management” widget in the Workspace, select the “Get Started” button.

5. On the next page, select the “Register Entity” button. Then…

What documentation do I need for validation?

You need at least one item for each list (A,B and C) and a translation of that document. When you select a document from one of these lists to upload to SAM.gov, we recommend that you rename it, for example: “List A(insert document name)” “List A translation;” “List B(insert document name);” “List B translation;” “List c(insert document name);” “List C translation,” etc..

List A: For proof of name and/or address, choose document(s) from List A. At least one document must have both your full, correct legal business name and current, correct physical address (self-certified English translation) Most common below:

● Bank Statements* (redact information that isn’t necessary for validation)

● Certificate of Formation/Organization (if stamped as filed with an authority)

● Department of Treasury IRS letter assigning your EIN

● Secretary of State Certificate of Filing

● Screenshot/PDF file of your business profile* in your state/county’s online business registry website (must be current registration and must include the registry URL)

● Utility Bill* (water, gas, or electric only) List B documentation: (self-certified English translation) proof of your entity start year and state/country, choose document(s) Most Common below:

· Articles of Incorporation/Organization/Formation (if stamped as filed with an authority)

· Certificate of Formation/Organization (if stamped as filed with an authority)

· Screenshot/PDF file of your business profile* in your state/county’s online business registry or (must be current registration and must include the website URL)

· Certificate/Articles of Organization or Incorporation

· Certificate/Articles of Formation;

List C documentation: (self-certified English translation) For proof of your national identifier (international entities only), choose document(s) Most Common below:

● Screenshot/PDF file of your business profile* in your country’s official online business registry (must be current registration and must include the registry URL). Do not submit screens from U.S. federal websites.

● Government-issued proof of tax identification number, employer identification number, or other identifier issued by your government.

● Government-issued tax receipt/return How should self-certification be done?

All international documents must have a satisfactory English language translation attached. The information below must be on each translation:

Certification by Translator I [insert typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and [insert foreign language] languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled [insert translated document name].
