SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS FOR
VEHICLE SIMULATOR
PERFORMANCE & FUNCTIONAL
Virtual vehicle training simulator must offer at minimum a manual transmission tractor trailer simulator. Additionally, it is desired to emulate broad array of vehicles to include Trucking, Law enforcement, EMS/Fire, Transit Bus, and Military vehicles.
The simulation must contain an array of scenarios and scenario building tool to include scriptable events that can be tailored for the appropriate training needs. These scenarios should be able to simulate multiple terrain types and environments. Including but not all encompassing: suburban, urban, rural, freeway, mountain pass, skid, desert. Additionally, an after action replay and report will need to be provided.
Include color camera mounted above and facing the driver and camera’s field of view encompasses the driver’s face and hands.
Include automatic adjusted nighttime driving technology along with low light situations.
Include but not limited to tire, suspension, vehicle chassis, steering, brake, powertrain driving simulation experiences that represent real vehicle behaviors.
Identify performance gaps, provide training plans, and automated training remediation.
Include visual graphics engine that is fully customizable, including time-of-day, weather conditions, night-time environments with accurate illumination, headlights, taillights, traffic control signals, fog, rain, and snow.
Provide data outcomes that influence assessment drive, example an after-action report.
PERFORMANCE & FUNCTIONAL
Able to integrate new vehicle technologies like driver assist systems including camera mirror systems, lane departure warnings, blind spot alerts, and collision avoidance sensors.
Simulate vehicle performance, including tire interactions, power train, braking systems, suspension, throttle, steering, transmission, environmental conditions (wind, rain, snow, ice).
Should include the latest training scenarios ready for training on day one. Scenarios will cover a broad range of driver safety training curriculum and learning objectives including orientation, emergency maneuvers, backing, close quarters maneuvering, and adverse conditions.
Include autonomous traffic that is also customizable.
Include pedestrians to include but no limited to walking and running actions.
Included for effective management of training objectives, scenarios and malfunction simulation.
Scenario difficulty can be adjusted to accommodate any experience level.
Easily reproduce and rehearse unique driving situations.
Numerous scenarios covering a wide variety of training objectives.
Vehicle, autonomous traffic, and environment libraries covering a wide variety of geographic settings and conditions.
After action review (AAR) and playback capability.
Collection and reporting of scoring data.
Performance assessment tools and replay/de-brief software enhance training effectiveness.
Change the weather conditions (rain, snow, ice and fog); road/traffic environment to urban, suburban, rural, mountains, motorway and desert; and the lighting conditions to day, night or twilight.
VEHICLE SIMULATOR SPECIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS
Realistic, accurate vehicle mirrors for virtual left, right, convex, and center rearview mirrors are embedded in the display based on the vehicle type and are fully adjustable to correspond to the adjustable seat based on real-world positioning. Additionally, full control of the actual view from the mirrors is available to the user to modify and tune as required.
Included 180 degree field of view.
Interface for intuitive control of the system settings and training scenarios.
Include real vehicle simulator cockpit seat to sit in and adjust up/down and back/forth.
Include a scenario editor and a pool of preload scenarios. A variety of training objectives as scanning, collision avoidance, space and speed management, emergency maneuvering, shifting, backing, and reaction times.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
One Consolidated Unit
Displays Full HD with an FOV of 180 Degrees field of view.
Realistic dashboard to emulate Tractor trailer and function for other vehicle types.
Transmission – Must be able to simulate a manual operated transmission that is floor mounted and operated. It is also desired to simulate an automatic transmission for other vehicles.
Real World Vehicle Components - Drivers are able to focus on training objectives while using real world vehicle components including an adjustable commercial vehicle air seat with 3-point seat belt, accelerator, brake, and clutch pedals, and a force loaded steering column with tilt, auto transmission lever on the column, turn signal lever, and hazard flashers.
Mirrors - Adjustable virtual left, right, and center rear view mirrors are embedded in the display and adjust automatically to correspond with the vehicle type and model being simulated. Convex and flat mirrors are simulated in real time to reflect realistic visibility.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS: lb/ft
